President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has decided that Manalo will remain as Foreign Affairs Secretary until the transition is finalized.

Bersamin previously announced Manalo’s appointment to the UN post, where he will replace Ambassador Antonio M. Lagdameo, who is set to retire on July 31, 2025.

Once Manalo assumes his new role, DFA Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations and ASEAN Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro will take over as Foreign Affairs Secretary.
