The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) had announced its readiness for the historic first-ever Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections, originally slated for September 14.

However, it is crucial to note that the inaugural BARMM parliamentary elections have since been rescheduled to May 2025, coinciding with the national and local elections, following the extension of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority’s term.

COMELEC spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco stated that all election paraphernalia were already positioned in their respective hubs across the region.

He further added that all necessary supplies had been deployed to COMELEC hubs in the five provinces, with particular focus on Cotabato City.

These preparations had undergone thorough inspection by various stakeholders, including the watchers representing each candidate.

The deployment of these election paraphernalia to individual clustered precincts was scheduled for September 12.

Ballots were set to be handed over to teachers on September 13, one day prior to the Bangsamoro elections.

A total of 5,212 clustered precincts are designated for the Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections, with each equipped with an automated vote counting machine.

Each municipality will have backup machines readily available in case of primary machine failure, and dedicated technicians will be stationed at every school to address any technical issues promptly.

COMELEC assured that all votes would be accurately counted for this historic election.
