Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla is scheduled to travel to France to caution its officials regarding the country’s alleged role as a sanctuary for Philippine fugitives facing serious charges.
According to Remulla, he believes former Representative Zaldy Co, who is currently facing a graft case linked to flood control anomalies in the country, is residing in Paris.
Remulla further stated that he intends to engage with the justice ministry and other relevant authorities in France to discuss the matter.
He expressed confidence that the French government would not wish to be implicated in such anomalies, given the alleged harboring of individuals with pending cases from the Philippines.
Beyond Co, Remulla also mentioned that Senator Loren Legarda and her son, Representative Leandro Leviste, are reportedly in France.
Legarda had filed a medical leave, accompanied by her son, Batangas Representative Leviste, who is implicated in anomalies related to solar power projects.
