A woman was killed and her adoptive child was raped in Arante Sara, Iloilo

A woman was killed and another girl was raped at their home in Barangay Arante, Sara, Iloilo.

Grace Asiwagan Fortaleza, 44, was fatally struck in the head with a wooden object.

On the other hand, it has been determined that the rape victim is just 17 years old and an adopted child of Fortaleza.

According to Fortaleza’s sister, Lota Asiwagan, the 17-year-old victim awoke her and informed her that her sister had been killed.

Before the crime, the suspects purposefully broke the steel matting that serves as a window in the victim’s home.

They stole the victim’s two cell phones and left. They even smashed the closed-circuit television (CCTV) in the vicinity.

The Sara Municipal Police Station continues to pursue the said crime.
