The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) confirmed that five people have died due to Typhoon Crising and the southwest monsoon affecting parts of the Philippines.
The latest report, released Monday morning, July 21, marks an increase from the four casualties reported in previous days.
The agency also recorded five injuries and seven missing individuals as a result of the calamity.
Two fatalities and one injury have been officially verified, while validation is ongoing for other reported casualties.
A total of 800,864 individuals from over 1,000 barangays have been affected, according to the NDRRMC.
Currently, 5,921 families are staying in evacuation centers, while 16,671 families remain outside the designated shelters.
Although Severe Tropical Storm Wipha (formerly Crising) exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Saturday, it is still being closely monitored alongside a nearby low-pressure area.
The LPA inside PAR is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours, according to forecasts.
