Albay Acting Governor Glenda Ong-Bongao said in an interview with Bombo Radyo Legazpi that early dismissal was ordered to ensure the safe return of students to their provinces.

The suspension will also allow schools to secure their facilities and equipment.

All disaster response units have been put on high alert to implement safety measures before the storm’s effects worsen.

Bongao noted that local governments have learned from the impact of Typhoon Kristine, prompting earlier preparations to avoid flooding and landslides.
