Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-Wong) has weakened but continues to bring destructive winds and heavy rains as it moved over La Union early Monday morning, November 10, 2025.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the typhoon’s center was located in Bagulin, La Union at 1:00 AM, with maximum sustained winds of 165 km/h, gustiness reaching 275 km/h, and central pressure at 945 hPa.
Uwan is moving northwestward at 30 km/h, with strong to typhoon-force winds extending outward up to 780 km from the center.

TCWS No. 1 (Strong winds, 39–61 km/h): Batanes, northern Palawan including Calamian, Cuyo, and Cagayancillo Islands, the rest of Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands, Romblon, the rest of Oriental and Occidental Mindoro, Northern Samar, northern and central Samar, northern Eastern Samar, northern Leyte including Tacloban City and Ormoc City, Biliran, northern Cebu including Bantayan Islands, Guimaras, northern Negros Occidental including Bacolod City, Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, and Antique including Caluya Islands.
Forecast Track

PAGASA said Uwan will emerge over the coastal waters of La Union this morning before moving into the West Philippine Sea, where it is expected to maintain strength until November 11 before gradually weakening.
By November 12, the typhoon will turn northeastward toward the Taiwan Strait, with landfall forecast in western Taiwan on November 13 before weakening further into a remnant low.
Authorities urged residents in high-risk areas to remain vigilant, follow evacuation orders, and monitor updates from local disaster offices and PAGASA regional services.
