U.S. President Donald Trump announced this morning that a “complete and total” ceasefire will take effect between Israel and Iran to end ongoing hostilities.

According to Trump, a staged process will be followed, allowing both sides time to complete their current missions before officially initiating the ceasefire.

He shared on Truth Social, “On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, ‘THE 12 DAY WAR’.”

Prior to this, Trump encouraged Israel to pursue peace after it allowed Iran’s attack on a U.S. military base—which left no casualties—and even thanked Iran for its advance warning.

Earlier, three Israeli officials signaled plans to end the campaign against Iran soon and conveyed the message to the United States.

A senior Iranian official confirmed their agreement with the U.S.-brokered ceasefire proposal.

The conflict escalated when Iran launched a retaliatory strike on a U.S. air base in Doha, Qatar, in response to an American air strike targeting Tehran’s nuclear facilities.
