“Today, I formally announce my candidacy for Mayor of Caloocan City in the 2025 Elections. Change is coming,” Trillanes said.

Trillanes issued a challenge to the Malapitan family, who have held control of the city for decades.

“Caloocan is one of the largest cities in the country, but it has lagged behind in terms of progress. The first step to solving this is to put an end to corruption in city hall, and with the savings from that, we can address the needs of the people,” he added in an interview.

Trillanes, known as a vocal critic of former President Rodrigo Duterte, recently announced his bid under the Magdalo Partylist in a church event in Caloocan last Saturday.

It can be recalled that Trillanes was unsuccessful in his 2022 senatorial bid.
