Tragic Graduation: Student Dies During Ceremony in General Santos City

A 20-year-old student, identified as Khentjoy Beatisula, a resident of Brgy. Fatima, unexpectedly lost consciousness and died in the middle of his graduation ceremony.

The student was unable to walk across the stage at the Banisil National High School graduation rites after passing away.

According to “Alyas Panny,” (Alias Panny) the victim’s mother, her daughter had gone to Banisil National High School around 3:00 PM to attend the graduation rites held yesterday, April 14, 2025.

Minutes later, the mother was shocked to find her daughter lying on the floor with injuries to his knee and eyebrow.

The investigation by the Fatima Police Station confirmed, through PMaj. Westley Marillano, the station commander, that the student had tripped and hit the concrete.

He also confirmed that there was no foul play involved in the student’s death.

The student was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead by the attending physicians.

In an official statement, Banisil National High School expressed deep sorrow among the teachers and classmates of Khentjoy due to the incident and appealed to the public to avoid spreading unverified information.

Currently, their home in Brgy. Fatima is being prepared for the burial of the student’s remains.
