Three ISAFP Operatives Killed in Ambush in Lamitan, Basilan

Police are investigating the deaths of three operatives from the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP).

This occurred in an ambush in Barangay Baimbing, Lamitan, Basilan this Monday.

According to initial reports from the Lamitan City Police Station and the Basilan Provincial Police Office, the victims, believed to be members of an ISAFP unit based in Zamboanga, were riding in a van when they were fired upon by armed assailants using assault rifles in Barangay Baimbing.

Investigators from the Lamitan City police believe the three ISAFP personnel were on an intelligence mission in Lamitan City when they were ambushed, resulting in their immediate deaths.

Authorities are currently gathering information to identify those responsible for the killings.
