Metro Manila, Philippines – The trough of Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca is currently influencing weather conditions in the eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas, while the southwest monsoon continues to bring rain to Mindanao and Southern Luzon, according to the latest advisory from PAGASA.

As of 3:00 AM, Bebinca was located 1,975 km east of Central Luzon with sustained winds of 95 km/h and gusts reaching up to 115 km/h. The storm, moving north at 20 km/h, remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Forecast Weather Conditions

  • Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate are under cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough of Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca. The risk of flash floods and landslides remains moderate to high, with periods of heavy rainfall expected.
  • Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will also experience cloudy skies and scattered thunderstorms, this time due to the Southwest Monsoon. Residents are warned of potential flash floods and landslides in areas prone to heavy rain.
  • Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and the rest of the Bicol Region will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms, also influenced by the storm’s trough. Localized severe thunderstorms may lead to flash floods.
  • Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon: Partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms will affect these areas. Flash floods may occur during intense thunderstorms.

Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

  • Eastern Mindanao will experience moderate to strong southwest winds, with coastal waters expected to be moderate to rough, ranging from 1.2 to 2.8 meters.
  • Eastern Luzon and Visayas will see light to moderate winds from the northeast to northwest, with coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 2.5 meters.
