Severe Storm Kristine Exits PAR, New Typhoon Leon Expected Tomorrow

Severe Tropical Storm Kristine was last located 255 kilometers west northwest of Bacnotan, La Union, or 255 km west southwest of Sinait, Ilocos Sur.

The storm holds maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near its center, with gusts reaching up to 115 km/h.

Kristine remains categorized as a severe tropical storm, moving west northwest at 15 km/h as it heads out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by this afternoon or evening.

Meanwhile, weather monitors are tracking another potential storm outside the PAR.

The new storm was last spotted 2,235 km east of Eastern Visayas.

With maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near its center and gusts up to 70 km/h, the storm is moving northwest at 20 km/h.

The new storm, expected to enter the PAR tomorrow, will be named “Leon.”
