NAGA CITY – Severe flooding, reaching chest-deep levels, has affected several areas in Naga City due to Typhoon Enteng.

One of the hardest-hit areas is San Antonio St., Zone 1, Barangay Concepcion Pequeña, where floodwaters have nearly submerged household items.

The water level in the Naga River also reached critical levels last night, driven by continuous heavy rainfall caused by the typhoon.

In a social media post, Naga City Mayor Nelson Legacion ordered a forced evacuation for all barangays as 250mm of rainfall—equivalent to one to two months’ worth of rain—poured down within 24 hours.

Mayor Legacion also suspended work in both private and public offices from 8 PM last night until today, September 2, 2024. Classes in all schools across the city have also been suspended.

Meanwhile, several evacuation centers have been opened for residents who needed to evacuate, including JMR Coliseum, Sta. Cruz Evacuation Center, PAGCOR Evacuation Center, and Ateneo de Naga.
