As a three-term governor of Pampanga, Lapid said he understands the heavy responsibilities of Barangay officials, having served with dedication and empathy, especially during the 1991 Mount Pinatubo eruption.

In addition, Lapid is pushing a Senate bill that aims to provide regular and fair compensation as well as additional incentives for all Barangay and SK officials.

Led by Liga ng mga Barangay National President Jessica Dy, the Barangay officials expressed their gratitude to Lapid for supporting their work and advocating for the extension of their terms.
