Senator Imee Marcos Opens PRISAA Games 2025, Vows Support for Filipino Athletes

Senator Imee Marcos formally opened the 2025 National Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) Games on Saturday, April 5, in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The opening ceremony was attended by over 20,000 delegates from 400 private schools nationwide, representing regions from the National Capital Region to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

In her speech, Senator Marcos emphasized the importance of discipline, unity, and sacrifice in the success of every athlete.

She encouraged her fellow politicians to emulate the solidarity demonstrated by the youth athletes.

“Walang atletang walang sakripisyo, walang atletang hindi nagpapakumbaba at nakikipagtulungan sa isa’t isa. Kaming mga pulitiko, dapat matuto sa inyong pagkakaisa,”(There is no athlete without sacrifice, no athlete who does not show humility and teamwork. We politicians should learn from your unity) Marcos stated.

The senator also pledged continued support for Filipino athletes and committed to pushing for legislation and programs that address their needs.

The PRISAA Games aim to discover and develop the potential of young athletes who may one day represent the Philippines in national and international sports competitions.
