Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa once again raised concerns about the issue of the International Criminal Court (ICC) intervening in the Philippines.
Dela Rosa’s statement follows remarks by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, suggesting that some former police officials could be interviewed by ICC prosecutors regarding the issue of extrajudicial killings (EJKs) during the Duterte administration.
Dela Rosa emphasized that it is the government’s duty to protect its citizens rather than yield to the desires of foreign entities.
The senator warned that a crisis is looming and is now within sight.
According to him, it is up to us to decide whether we will let this crisis wreak havoc and further harm our nation, which has been divided by political colors for decades.
So far, Malacañang Palace has not issued a direct response.
