The much-anticipated seventh hearing of the Quad Committee is set for today, Friday, September 27, 2024, with key discussions focusing on extrajudicial killings (EJK), illegal drugs, and Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).

House Committee Chairman on Public Order and Safety, Rep. Dan Fernandez of Sta. Rosa, Laguna, teased that the hearing will feature two surprise resource speakers, promising new revelations. Fernandez declined to disclose their identities.

Former PCSO Chairman Royina Garma, as well as Alice Guo and Cassandra Ong, are expected to attend. Additionally, former PNP Chiefs, retired General Oscar Albayalde and Benjamin Acorda, were seen arriving at the session.

Acorda has been linked to Tony Yang, the brother of former presidential adviser Michael Yang, stirring controversy over his alleged involvement in illegal activities.

Today’s session is also expected to present a matrix connecting Michael Yang to illegal drug operations.

Surigao del Sur Rep. Johnny Pimentel confirmed that the matrix, gathered from various law enforcement agencies such as the PAOCC, will highlight individuals tied to illegal drugs and POGO operations.

The matrix will reportedly delve deeper into Yang’s alleged connections to these criminal activities.

Pimentel emphasized that Tony Yang may also be implicated in illegal drug shipments and smuggling activities, particularly rice smuggling. Yang was recently arrested at NAIA for identity theft and immigration violations.
