President Marcos Declares Special Non-Working Holidays in September and October

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has declared several areas across the country to have special non-working days for September and October.

Included are Dingras, Ilocos Norte, which will observe a special non-working holiday on September 20 under Proclamation No. 680, and San Mateo, Rizal, on September 21 under Proclamation No. 681.

Dingras will commemorate the heroism of Josefa Llanes-Escoda, the founder of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines, during World War II, while San Mateo, Rizal, will celebrate its 452nd Founding Anniversary.

Under Proclamation No. 682, October 4 has been declared a special non-working day in Mountain Province for the celebration of Provincial Indigenous People’s Day.

Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur, will also observe a special non-working day on October 7 for the 33rd Araw ng Guipos, as stated in Proclamation No. 683.

Additionally, Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, will observe a holiday on October 23, 2024, for the Aldaw Ti Wayawaya-lli A Narvacan celebration under Proclamation No. 684.

Lastly, special non-working days will be observed on October 24 in Pili, Camarines Sur, for the Cimarrones Festival, and in Lemery, Batangas, for its Founding Anniversary.
