A 46-year-old suspect, identified as alias “PAT”, was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Maroroy, Daraga, Albay.
The operation was successfully carried out by the Daraga Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office V.
Authorities confiscated 11 sachets of suspected shabu, weighing 51 grams, with an estimated street value of ₱346,800.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Edgar Azotea, Chief of Police of Daraga Municipal Police Station, confirmed that the suspect was already on the Street Level Individual watchlist and had previously been imprisoned for a similar offense.
Azotea warned individuals involved in illegal activities that law enforcement will continue its crackdown to prevent further harm to the community.
The suspect now faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Azotea expressed gratitude to local barangays for their swift coordination, which helped authorities take immediate action against criminal elements.
