The Philippine National Police (PNP) confirmed the death of US vlogger Elliot Eastman, who was abducted by individuals posing as police officers in Sibuco, Zamboanga del Norte.
According to PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, a captured suspect admitted that Eastman resisted their demands, leading to his fatal shooting with an M-16 rifle.
The kidnappers reportedly dumped the 26-year-old victim’s body into the sea after shooting him in the leg and abdomen.
Eastman, a Vermont native, was abducted on October 17, and despite continuous search efforts by state forces, his body remains missing as of this report.
Three kidnappers have been killed in encounters with authorities, including an operation in Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay, during efforts to rescue Eastman.
