The Philippine Army’s Reserve Command (RESCOM) deployed its reservists nationwide to support emergency response efforts during severe flooding caused by the enhanced southwest monsoon (habagat) and low-pressure weather systems.
On July 22, Army reservists rescued 30 residents in Fairview, Quezon City, and another 20 in Tumana, Marikina, in coordination with local emergency responders.
In Palawan, reservists teamed up with active military units and civilian volunteers to distribute relief goods to affected families in the towns of Roxas and El Nido.

Reservists also assisted the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region III by repacking and transporting relief supplies from its warehouse in San Simon, Pampanga.
The Philippine Army emphasized the critical value of its reserve force in humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) operations, especially during large-scale emergencies.
This mobilization reflects the goals of the Philippine Reservists Act (Republic Act 7077), which advocates for a capable and deployable reserve component for both peace and national security missions.
