Philippine Army Assists Nearly 120,000 Individuals in Super Typhoon Uwan Relief Operations

The Philippine Army has aided almost 120,000 individuals affected by Super Typhoon Uwan through intensified rescue, relief, and clearing operations on November 10, 2025.

The Army redirected its resources from suspended military drills to humanitarian missions, focusing on immediate aid across Luzon amid widespread power outages and heavy rainfall.

Humanitarian and Disaster Response (HADR) units assisted 35,481 families or 118,617 individuals in 2,603 evacuation shelters nationwide, along with 56,459 persons who have since returned to their homes.

Task Force Sagip under the 9th Infantry Division, together with reservists and partner agencies, carried out relief and rescue operations across Bicol following severe flooding and damage caused by the typhoon.

From rescue and evacuation to road clearing and relief distribution, soldiers, reservists, and local responders worked round the clock to ensure the safety and recovery of affected communities.

Meanwhile, the 5th Infantry Division cleared debris-laden roads and restored access to isolated communities in Northern Luzon, while also conducting pre-emptive evacuations and distributing relief items to displaced families.

The 7th Infantry Division pre-emptively evacuated residents along Aurora’s coastal villages ahead of Uwan’s landfall in Dipaculao town on November 9.

The Philippine Army assured affected families that they can rely on the strong, dependable, and committed soldiers in ongoing post-typhoon relief and recovery efforts.
