PASIG CITY — Philanthropist and construction executive Sarah Discaya has filed her Certificate of Candidacy for the mayoral race in the city of Pasig.

Discaya, better known as Ate Sarah by her friends and supporters, is the Chief Financial Officer of St. Gerrard Construction and Development Corporation. She will run against incumbent Mayor Vico Sotto who has also filed for candidacy.

The political aspirant is the wife of St. Gerrard Chief Executive Officer Pacifico Curlee Discaya.

The Sotto administration had filed cases against the construction company, including the lack of occupancy and business permits. Just a few days ago, the company said in an interview that they did not plan to run in the upcoming 2025 Local and National Elections, but they were provoked by Mayor Vico.

Meanwhile, Mayor Sotto on Saturday reveals that he believes Miru Systems’ former partner is linked to the owners of St. Gerrard Construction.

When asked by Star FM Manila regarding Mayor Vico’s recent claims, Discaya laid down her plans instead and promised that she will answer all the questions through a press conference.

“We are aiming for Pasig to be a smart city so we’re looking for smart hospitals, smart schools, as well as smart homes. Yung program natin is home for the homeless. Yan ang talagang priority natin,” she says. “Let me enjoy the moment as a first time candidate.”
