The Philippine Embassy in Yangon, Myanmar, is gathering information on the condition of all affected Filipinos following a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake on March 28.
In an advisory issued on Saturday, March 29, the embassy stated that the move aims to determine necessary resources to assist Filipinos, including deploying a team on the ground for welfare checks.
The embassy also assured that it is assessing the need for relocation or repatriation of affected individuals.
For emergencies, Filipinos in Myanmar may contact the embassy through the Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) hotline at +95 998 521 0991 or via the official Philippine Embassy in Myanmar Facebook and Messenger accounts.
Earlier, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs Eduardo De Vega said that around 600 Filipinos reside in Myanmar, though they are located far from the earthquake’s epicenter.
