The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a heavy rainfall warning as Tropical Cyclones OFEL and PEPITO are expected to bring significant rainfall across parts of Luzon and Visayas in the coming days.
From tonight until tomorrow evening, November 15, Batanes and Cagayan will experience heavy to intense rainfall, with accumulations between 100 to 200 mm.
Meanwhile, Ilocos Norte, Apayao, and Abra will see moderate to heavy rainfall ranging from 50 to 100 mm.
By tomorrow evening until Saturday evening, November 16, heavy to intense rain, accumulating between 100 to 200 mm, is forecast in Catanduanes, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Sorsogon.
Batanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Masbate, Leyte, Samar, and Biliran can expect moderate to heavy rainfall between 50 to 100 mm.
On Saturday evening through Sunday evening, November 17, rainfall intensifies further. Quezon, Aurora, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes are projected to receive intense to torrential rainfall exceeding 200 mm.
Heavy to intense rainfall, between 100 to 200 mm, will affect Northern Samar, Albay, Sorsogon, Marinduque, Laguna, Rizal, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, and Aurora.
Metro Manila, Bataan, Cavite, Zambales, Tarlac, Batangas, Pampanga, Leyte, Masbate, Romblon, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Pangasinan, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino will experience moderate to heavy rainfall of 50 to 100 mm.
PAGASA warns that mountainous and elevated areas may see even higher rainfall amounts.
Furthermore, areas that have already experienced significant rainfall could face worsened impacts, including flooding and landslides.
Residents and local disaster risk reduction and management offices are advised to take all necessary precautions to protect life and property.
Regional Services Divisions may issue localized Heavy Rainfall Warnings, Thunderstorm Advisories, and other severe weather alerts as needed.
