PAGASA reported that Uwan was last spotted 125 kilometers east-northeast of Virac, Catanduanes at 7:00 a.m., packing maximum sustained winds of 185 km/h near the center and gusts of up to 230 km/h, while moving west-northwest at 25 km/h.

The agency warned that Uwan may bring destructive winds and heavy rains even in areas far from the landfall zone.

Storm surges exceeding three meters are expected along low-lying coastal areas of Cagayan, Isabela, Ilocos Region, Aurora, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Quezon, Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, Siargao, and Bucas Grande Islands.

PAGASA cautioned that these conditions pose serious risks to lives and property in coastal communities.

The eye of the storm is forecast to pass near Catanduanes this morning and make landfall in Aurora by Sunday night or early Monday morning.

The super typhoon may weaken as it crosses the mountains of Northern Luzon but will remain within the typhoon category.

By Tuesday, Uwan is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), re-enter the northwestern PAR by Thursday, cross Taiwan, and exit completely by Friday morning.

Classes in affected areas have been suspended on Monday, November 10, 2025.

Several agencies have also implemented flight cancellations and precautionary measures in airports and seaports.

The public is advised to continue monitoring official bulletins, avoid coastal areas, and remain alert for possible flooding and landslides due to heavy rains and storm surges.
