Over 685,000 Displaced After Three Successive Typhoons Hit the Philippines

A total of 685,071 individuals have been displaced due to the devastation from three successive typhoons in the Philippines.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that 446,177 people remain in evacuation centers, while 238,894 are staying in temporary shelters.

Over 1.145 million individuals, equivalent to nearly 300,000 families, have been affected in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

The storms have inflicted P469.8 million in infrastructure damage and P8.6 million in losses to the agriculture sector.

More than 7,000 homes sustained partial damage, while 437 houses were destroyed.

As of this morning, 34 roads and 24 bridges remain impassable, with ongoing clearing operations in progress.

A fatality was reported in Daet, Camarines Norte, attributed to Typhoon Pepito, according to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office on Sunday, November 17.
