The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported more than 115,000 passengers were monitored at various ports across the country on April 19, 2025.
As part of its ongoing “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Semana Santa 2025,” the PCG ensured the safety and security of travelers during the Holy Week exodus.
Between 6:00 AM and 12:00 PM alone, 60,772 outbound and 54,283 inbound passengers were recorded at all seaports nationwide.
To manage the surge of travelers, 4,873 personnel were deployed across 16 PCG Districts to conduct inspections on 509 vessels and 2,299 motorboats.
The PCG raised its alert level to “heightened alert” across all districts, stations, and sub-stations from April 13 to April 20, 2025.
This heightened alert aims to address the influx of passengers traveling for the Semana Santa observance.
The PCG emphasized its readiness to provide assistance and ensure order and safety at sea.
Through this initiative, the PCG continues to uphold its commitment to safe and organized travel for all seafarers and port passengers.
