One Dead, Two Injured in Four-Vehicle Collision on Maharlika Highway

One person died, and two others were injured in a four-vehicle collision along Maharlika Highway in Barangay Bautista, Labo, Camarines Norte.

Police Lt. Augusto Manila, Chief of Labo Municipal Police Station, reported that the incident occurred when a van driver attempted to overtake another vehicle and collided with an oncoming dump truck.

The van also grazed another vehicle during the overtaking maneuver, according to the police investigation.

The van driver, along with the dump truck driver and a passenger, sustained injuries and were immediately rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

Unfortunately, the van driver succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Police clarified that weather conditions were not a factor in the accident, as fair weather prevailed during the incident.

Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution and practice responsible driving to prevent similar accidents.
