The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has declined Vice President Sara Duterte’s request for advance copies of questions related to its ongoing probe.

NBI Director Jimmy Santiago stated that the agency will only provide a copy of the complaint and a single advance question asking who threatened her life.

The investigation pertains to Duterte’s controversial statement about alleged threats against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez.

VP Duterte was expected to attend the NBI’s initial hearing on the matter but instead requested a postponement and copies of the questions.

Director Santiago emphasized that the NBI cannot grant her full request, reiterating the agency’s commitment to fairness and impartiality.

The NBI has set a new deadline of December 11 for Duterte to appear and answer questions.

If she fails to attend without valid reason or a proper request for rescheduling, the NBI may proceed with its recommendations to the Department of Justice.

The agency assured the public that the investigation would be impartial and all arguments from Duterte’s camp would be carefully considered.
