Multicab Driver Dies After Falling Off Bridge

A multicab driver was killed after the vehicle he was driving fell off Tinabunan Bridge in Brgy. Man-uling, Cauayan, Negros Occidental, on Sunday night, December 15.

The victim was identified as Rodulfo Trinidad Pulgan, a resident of Hinoba-an town.

According to Police Corporal Johnson Recto, assistant traffic investigator of the Cauayan Municipal Police Station, the multicab was traveling southbound when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The multicab crashed into the bridge’s railings and overshot, plunging into the river below.

The bridge has an estimated height of 15 meters.

The victim sustained visible injuries to his face and legs.

Authorities had to dive into the river to retrieve the victim’s identification card, which confirmed his residency in Hinoba-an.

The Hinoba-an Municipal Police Station was immediately notified, and the victim’s family has since traveled to Cauayan.

Police suspect that the driver may have fallen asleep due to the long journey, leading to the fatal accident.
