Mother Dies, Five Children Rescued After Boat Capsizes in Lake Buluan

A mother was found dead after the boat she and her five children were riding capsized in Lake Buluan, located in Barangay Maslabeng, early this morning.

According to the Buluan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), all five children were safely rescued during a search and rescue operation.

However, it took several hours before the mother’s body was recovered by responders who continued the search in the lake.

Buluan Vice Mayor King Mangudadatu confirmed that the mother was already lifeless when found.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the boat’s capsizing to determine any possible negligence or contributing factors.

The incident has raised concerns about water safety and the need for stricter enforcement of boating regulations in the area.
