PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday, January 1, called on Filipinos to find inspiration in the acts of kindness and resilience demonstrated in the face of hardships in 2024 as the nation enters the New Year.
In his message, Marcos emphasized the importance of reflecting on the strength shown by Filipinos in overcoming calamities and other challenges, which disrupted lives in the past year.
He highlighted how these moments should be seen as symbols of the unity and perseverance that fueled progress.
“As we move forward into 2025, we look ahead with renewed hope and optimism, knowing that our experiences will guide us in building a future full of promise and purpose,” the President said.
He urged Filipinos to draw inspiration from the countless acts of courage, compassion, and bayanihan (community spirit) witnessed during difficult times.
Marcos added that it is through this shared strength that Filipinos can rebuild what was lost and realize the vision of a Bagong Pilipinas (New Philippines), where dreams flourish and every Filipino prospers.
He also noted that the New Year provides an opportunity to reflect on the lessons learned and apply them for personal growth, encouraging the citizens to adopt a mindset focused on progress and balance between past realities and future hopes.
