President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared several special non-working holidays in different parts of the country to commemorate local founding anniversaries and festivals.
The proclamations were signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on behalf of the President and were recently published on the Official Gazette website.
In issuing the declarations, Marcos stated that it is “fitting and proper that the people be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration.”
Under Proclamation No. 855, April 26, 2025 is declared a special non-working holiday in the Municipality of Rizal, Cagayan to commemorate its founding anniversary.
Through Proclamation No. 856, May 14, 2025 is designated a special non-working day in the Municipality of Pulilan, Bulacan in celebration of the Kneeling Carabao Festival.
Proclamation No. 857 declares May 19, 2025 a special non-working holiday in the City of Butuan to mark the celebration of the Balangay Festival.
In Natonin, Mountain Province, April 21, 2025 is declared a special non-working holiday by virtue of Proclamation No. 858 to celebrate the First Sas-alliwa Festival.
Proclamation No. 859 declares April 25, 2025 a special non-working holiday in the Municipality of Infanta, Quezon in observance of its founding anniversary.
