The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced that there might soon be direct flights between Manila and Paris as well as between Manila and India.

Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista stated that a direct route between Manila and Paris will be launched this year as the Philippines and France strengthen their aviation connections.

Philippine Airlines President Stanley Ng stated that India is under consideration, but no final arrangements have been made.

In the Aviation Forum hosted by the Economic Journalists Association of the Philippines, Bautista stated that the Paris flight, which symbolizes the return of direct flights to Europe, is beneficial to the country’s tourism industry.
