The Palace has expressed its respect for the peaceful gathering of members of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) today.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin stated that the peace rally is a constitutional right that is valued by the people and recognized by the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The Palace is confident that the National Rally for Peace will be peaceful, orderly, and meaningful.
Bersamin said that Malacañang hopes that the opinions expressed during the event will help clarify the issues facing the country and lead to genuine unity.
Bersamin emphasized the importance of considering and listening to all sides of an issue, as this will bring about the clarity that is being sought.
He sees today’s gathering as part of a “national conversation” that people should engage in to gain clarity and unity on issues that affect everyone and the future.
In this regard, the relevant government agencies, including those responsible for peace and order, traffic and transportation management, and emergency health services, have been tasked to provide the necessary assistance to the public.
Meanwhile, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has also implemented strict security measures to maintain order.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has likewise deployed police officers around Malacañang.
