Malacañang Confirms Arrest of Former President Rodrigo Duterte

Malacañang has confirmed the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte this morning.

The arrest followed the receipt of an official copy of the warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) by INTERPOL Manila at dawn.

According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), Duterte and his entourage arrived in the Philippines from Hong Kong aboard a commercial flight at around 9:20 AM on March 11, 2025.

Upon his arrival, the Prosecutor General served the ICC notification of an arrest warrant against the former president for crimes against humanity.

The PCO assured the public that Duterte and his group are in good health and were examined by government doctors to ensure his well-being.

PNP officials serving the warrant wore body cameras to ensure transparency in the process.

As of now, the former president is in the custody of authorities.
