Isko Moreno Domagoso has been officially proclaimed as the newly elected Mayor of Manila following a landslide victory in the May 2025 local elections.
Moreno extended heartfelt thanks to Manileños shortly after his proclamation, emphasizing that while his team expected to win, they were overwhelmed by the massive margin of their victory.
He noted that nearly all of the city councilor candidates under his slate also secured seats, many receiving strong support from voters across the city.
The proclamation took place past 9:00 PM, officially declaring Moreno as the next Manila Mayor alongside his running mate, Chi Atienza, as the city’s Vice Mayor.
Earlier, the six winning congressional representatives for Manila’s six districts had also been proclaimed.
According to data from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), there are 1,142,174 registered voters in Manila and 1,585 clustered precincts.
Of these, 1,584 precincts had fully transmitted results, with one remaining on partial transmission.
COMELEC Manila canvassed a total of 928,996 ballots, resulting in a voter turnout of approximately 81.34%.
Moreno garnered 530,825 votes, while Vice Mayor-elect Chi Atienza secured 584,145 votes.
Following his proclamation, Moreno granted an interview with the media, expressing boundless gratitude to all who supported him and his team.
He also thanked Manileños for renewing their trust in his leadership and called for unity and forgiveness among his political rivals.
Moreno acknowledged the psychological and emotional toll of the campaign, but affirmed his readiness to serve once his term officially begins on June 30.
