Members of the Mindanao militia — a group led by Negrete — found the body after being unable to contact him since the previous week.

They reportedly noticed a foul odor upon arriving at his residence, prompting them to alert his family.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of death, while Negrete’s family has declined to issue a statement to the media.
