In a striking session, Joseph Stephen Paduano, Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, issued a stern warning to Alice Guo, the dismissed Mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, regarding her ongoing dishonesty.

This warning comes as Guo remains detained at the PNP Custodial Facility in Camp Crame.

During the sixth hearing of the House Quad Committee, Guo was questioned by Manila Sixth District Representative Bienvenido Abante Jr. about her relationship with Vice Mayor Leonardo Anunciacion, her running mate in the recent election.

Anunciacion confirmed their acquaintance dating back to 2001, when he was the mayor of Bamban and Guo visited his office to apply for a permit.

Abante further revealed that, under Guo’s administration, she endorsed the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) to the Sangguniang Bayan, seeking licensing from PAGCOR.

Guo vehemently denied this endorsement, prompting Abante to question whether Anunciacion was lying, as he presided over the council.

Despite repeated inquiries, Guo maintained her stance that she did not endorse POGO and avoided directly answering the questions posed.

This led Paduano to intervene, warning that he would recommend contempt proceedings against the former mayor for her persistent dishonesty.

Moreover, Abante scrutinized Guo’s educational background, insinuating that her alleged ability to lie effectively raised concerns. In her defense, Guo claimed she has never lied, except for minor “white lies” during her childhood.
