Hot and humid weather this week is expected across most parts of the Philippines, according to the state weather bureau.

Despite rising temperatures, PAGASA noted that the cool Amihan season has not yet fully ended.

The weakening Amihan is forecasted to persist until Tuesday, March 11, before dissipating along with the shear line.

A new surge of Amihan was felt in extreme Northern Luzon last week and may continue throughout the week.

By midweek, humid easterlies from the Pacific Ocean will dominate the country, bringing warm temperatures and afternoon thunderstorms.

No significant weather disturbances are expected this week, according to PAGASA.

For Monday’s forecast, light to moderate scattered rains will affect eastern Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines provinces due to the Amihan and shear line, which is expected to weaken by Tuesday.

Most areas in the country will experience hot and humid weather for the rest of the week.

A new Amihan surge will bring colder temperatures and light to moderate rains to Cordillera and Cagayan Valley by the weekend.

In Metro Manila, sunny and warm conditions will prevail, with cloudy skies and isolated thunderstorms expected in the afternoon or evening on one or two days this week.
