CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The government may confiscate the businesses and other properties of Chinese national Tony Yang, who allegedly posed as a Filipino citizen.

This was the reaction of former Misamis Oriental First District Congressman and former City Mayor, Atty. Oscar Moreno, following findings from separate Senate and House investigations regarding Yang, who has been residing in the Philippines for 26 years.

Moreno emphasized that the investigation into the illegal operations of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) is crucial, and more revelations are expected to hold individuals accountable for violations of the law.

Moreno also admitted to having encountered Yang during various Chinese community activities in the city, stating that Yang speaks fluent Filipino, contrary to his use of an interpreter during Senate hearings.

Investigations have revealed that Yang owns several businesses in Mindanao and is allegedly partnered with another Chinese national, former Bamban Mayor Alice Guo, in illegal POGO operations.
