Government Ensures Timely Release of Balikbayan Boxes from Ports Ahead of Holiday Rush

The government has assured the public that the Bureau of Customs (BOC) will expedite the processing of Balikbayan boxes as soon as they arrive at the country’s ports.

Finance Secretary Ralph Recto made the announcement in anticipation of increased cargo traffic ahead of the Christmas season.

Recto noted that, as of now, there are no significant issues at the ports. However, should any arise, the Department of Finance (DOF) and BOC will promptly address them to ensure smooth operations.

The DOF and BOC are committed to ensuring that no delays will occur on their end, allowing Balikbayan boxes to be released from the ports on time, ensuring a joyful Christmas for Filipinos awaiting their packages from abroad.
