Fatal Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of 21-Year-Old in Magsingal

VIGAN CITY – A 21-year-old motorcyclist was declared dead on arrival after a fatal accident in Barangay Bacar, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, on September 19, 2024.

The victim, identified as Patrick Jones Dandin Urayanza, an unemployed resident of the same area, was riding a Yamaha Mio i125 motorcycle northbound when he lost control while negotiating a curve.

The motorcycle veered off the road and collided with the rear end of a parked trailer hand tractor or “kuliglig” in the outer lane, causing Urayanza to be thrown against a concrete wall.

Due to severe head injuries, a fractured clavicle, broken ribs, and multiple other injuries, Urayanza was rushed to Ilocos Sur District Hospital in Magsingal by responders from the Philippine National Police and Bureau of Fire Protection – Magsingal.

However, the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.

Authorities reported that the victim had been drinking alcohol, was not wearing a protective helmet, and did not possess a driver’s license at the time of the accident.
