Family Feared Buried in Landslide; Search Efforts Hampered by Weather

Authorities are continuing the search for a couple and their 3-year-old child who were reportedly buried in a landslide in Sitio Minalong, Kahusayan, Kitaotao, Bukidnon.

The missing individuals have been identified as Ryan Cortez, 42, his wife Echel, and their 3-year-old daughter Elizabeth.

The latest information from the Police Regional Office 10, relayed by the Kitaotao Municipal Police Station, confirms that search and retrieval operations are still underway.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, PRO 10 spokesperson Major Joann Navarro stated that the retrieval teams are facing difficulties locating the family due to persistent rain in the area.

The landslide occurred on the night of October 15, and as of now, there is no confirmed information on whether the victims have been recovered.

It was also reported that two of the victims’ neighbors sustained injuries, while six houses were buried under the landslide.
