Manila Representative Benny Abante, co-chair of the House quad committee, has revealed the identity of the police general who warned former Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog about a potential assassination plot.
According to Abante, the call was made by former PNP Chief Camilo Cascolan.
Mabilog had previously stated that he was advised not to go to Camp Crame due to threats to his life, along with pressure from officials of the previous administration to name former Senator Mar Roxas and former Senate President Franklin Drilon as drug lords.
Mabilog became emotional during a recent hearing before the quad committee, where he recounted his experiences after being placed on the Duterte administration’s alleged narco list.
However, the revelations regarding Cascolan will not be further pursued, as he passed away last year.
On the other hand, former PNP Chief and now Senator Ronald dela Rosa believes that these accusations are merely part of a smear campaign aimed at undermining their political battles, including those involving the Duterte administration.
