Sandiganbayan Presiding Justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tang gave the prosecution until October 18, 2024, to submit their explanation.

The arraignment of Mabilog is rescheduled for November 22.

The Sandiganbayan set the arraignment related to an allegedly anomalous towing deal signed by Mabilog in 2015.

Mabilog posted a P90,000 bail on September 10, 2024, upon returning to the country after seven years of self-imposed exile in 2017 following his inclusion in former President Duterte’s narco-list.

The Office of the Ombudsman issued a dismissal order against Mabilog after he was found guilty of grave misconduct, serious dishonesty, and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.

The dismissal carries penalties including perpetual disqualification from public office, cancellation of eligibility, forfeiture of retirement benefits, and a ban on taking civil service examinations.
