Kerwin Espinosa apologized to former Senator Leila de Lima, admitting that he was forced to implicate her and businessman Peter Lim in the illegal drug trade.

Espinosa made the apology during the House Quad Committee hearing on cases of extrajudicial killings (EJKs).

He expressed hope that De Lima could forgive him, explaining that he was coerced into falsely linking the former senator to illegal drugs, despite the accusations being untrue.

Espinosa also addressed a photo of him with De Lima, clarifying that the picture was taken during a chance meeting when his family visited Baybay.
