Driver Arrested with ₱408,000 Worth of Shabu in Marawi City

A motorist was apprehended and jailed after being caught transporting over ₱408,000 worth of shabu to a buyer in Marawi City.

The suspect was on his way to Mulondo, Lanao del Sur when he noticed a police checkpoint operation on a street in Barangay Patani.

Attempting to avoid the inspection, the suspect made a sudden U-turn, prompting the police to give chase and eventually intercept him.

Upon inspection, Marawi police discovered that the driver had attempted to evade the checkpoint because he was carrying shabu, which he intended to deliver in Mulondo.

A thorough search revealed four large packets of shabu concealed in the suspect’s waist bag, leading to his arrest.

The suspect is now detained at the Marawi City Police Station.
